Becoming a Member
What
do I need to bring with me when I apply for my
membership?
You will need:

How
do I pay for the entrance fee?
By cheque: please make the
cheque payable to "Serangoon Gardens Country Club" or
"SGCC" By credit card: please note that credit card payments are
subject to a 4% administrative
fee
How
long does it take to process my membership
application?
All applications are subject to the approval
of the Club’s General Committee. Once we receive all necessary documents
along with application forms, we aim to process your application within 2-3
weeks.
Can
I pay by instalments?
Yes. We are currently offering
attractive interest-free instalment schemes. For more details, click here
Can
I use the Club’s facilities immediately after I sign
up?
No. Your application must first be approved by the
General Committee. After your application has been approved and processed (this
usually takes about 2-3 weeks upon receiving your application), we will notify
you. You may then collect your membership card from the Main Reception and start
using the Club’s facilities.
Can my
whole family enjoy the Club’s facilities when I sign up as a
member?
Yes. For members with family, the monthly
subscription fee for an Ordinary/Term family membership ($70.00) or
Non-Transferable Ordinary family membership ($90.00) covers their spouse and
children under the age of 21. The family membership subscription does not cover
children above the age of 21, nieces, nephews or any other relatives.
What
happens when my child turns 21?
When your child turns 21,
she/he will be your guest. If you wish, you may transfer your Ordinary
membership to your child, or purchase an Ordinary or Term Membership for him or
her.
What
is a Supplementary Card?
A Supplementary Card allows
members of your family to utilize the Club’s facilities without having
you, the main Member, present. Supplementary Cards are available for your spouse
and children between ages 12-21.

Do
I have to pay to use the Club’s facilities?
Yes. To
use most of the facilities, Members will have to pay a nominal fee. The swimming
pool and gym are free of charge for members.

Club Policies
I
am not a Member. Can I still use the facilities?
All of
our facilities are exclusively for our Members, so you would have to be a Member
of SGCC in order to use our facilities.
Can I
bring guests to the Club?
Yes. However, all Members must
sign in their guests, and accompany their guests throughout their visit.
There are some restrictions to how often guests may visit the Club.
Please see Section 5 in the Club’s Bye-Laws for more information.
Restrictions also apply to when guests can use the Club’s
facilities. In addition, members will have to pay the respective guest charges
for their guest’s usage of facilities.

Can
I bring guests to the Club’s gym?
Yes. Each guest is
subject to a fee of $10.70. Guests may use the gym from 10.00am to 5.00pm only.
Can my
maid or helper bring my children into the Club without my membership
card?
Yes. All you have to do is fill in a Child-Minder
Application Form to authorize your maid or helper’s admission into the
Club for specific days and times. Otherwise, you must sign in your maid or
helper as your guest.

I
have been posted overseas for work. What happens to my membership while I am
away?
You may apply to be an Absentee Member during the
time you are away (for a minimum of three months). Absentee Members only need to
pay 25% of their monthly subscription fee upfront for a year. Absentee
Memberships must be renewed on a yearly basis. When applying to be an Absentee
Member, please provide documented proof of your posting (e.g. a work visa or
letter from your employer).

Can
I use the Club’s facilities when I’m back in Singapore for
holidays?
Yes. Absentee Members are allowed to use the
Club’s facilities for two continuous weeks per year. However, Absentee
Members will need to purchase cash coupons to pay for goods and services if they
plan to use the Club during those two weeks.
What is
the acceptable dress code in the Club?
There are different
dress codes for various facilities in the Club. For the convenience of members,
we have categorized the dress codes into 3 categories: Casual Attire, Smart
Attire and Sports / Workout Attire. We would appreciate if members adhere
strictly to the dress codes.

Investment
Do
members have to pay for upgrading and renovation costs?
So
far, members have not been approached to pay for such costs. Through prudent
financial management over the years, the Club has accumulated sufficient surplus
funds to pay for such expenses.
Transferring and Selling My
Membership
Can
I transfer my membership to my family members or
relatives?
Yes, if you have an Ordinary membership.
Non-Transferable Ordinary Memberships cannot be transferred to family members or
transferred upon death.

memberships are available at the respective administrative fees:

What
is the Club’s transfer fee if I decide to sell my Ordinary/Corporate
membership in the open market?
The current transfer fees

How
is the transfer fee determined?
The transfer fee is
determined at the sole discretion of the General Committee of the Club.
Can I
terminate my membership during the instalment period?
Yes.
However, any monies paid to the Club, including the initial down payment and
instalment amounts, will be forfeited. Non-Transferable Ordinary Members on an
instalment scheme may only terminate their membership once they pay all
outstanding balances of the entrance fee.
Can I sell
my Ordinary membership during the instalment period?
Yes.
However, you must first settle the remaining instalment amount that is due to
the Club and pay the prevailing transfer fee.
Can I
convert my Non-Transferable Ordinary Membership to an Ordinary
Membership?
Yes. The NTOM can be converted anytime upon
payment of a conversion fee of $14,000 (plus any prevailing taxes at time of
conversion) to the Club. There is
no
time restriction
on such
conversions.
How
can I convert my Non-Transferable Ordinary Membership to an Ordinary
Membership?
A Non-Transferable Ordinary Member can apply
to the Club to convert his/her membership to an Ordinary Membership by paying a
conversion fee of $14,000 (plus any prevailing taxes at the time of conversion)
to the Club. Non-Transferable Ordinary Members on an instalment scheme must
settle any outstanding balance of the entrance fee before converting to an
Ordinary Membership.
